In Search of Justice
Dark Moments
| Shareef, of all the people in the world, can never be in such trouble with any one, Let alone the Police? |
June 02, 2006, around 11:30pm, I am with my wife in a Hotel in Niagara Falls,
away from the kids, trying to get a long waited vacation that we deserved but
never had the chance to have, when the most unfortunate phone call arrived. It
was my daughter. With a shattered and shaking voice, she informed me that my
son, my first born son, Shareef is arrested! I did not know how to respond. My
son is arrested? Why? How? For what reason? Shareef, of all the people in the
world, can never be in such trouble with any one, let alone the Police?
Shareef, my first born:
| I appeal to the Canadian Intellect and conscience to give my son the benefit of the doubt, and read what can be a proof of innocence or, to say the least, a definite reasonable doubt on the “story” that the stained RCMP have netted for him and his colleagues |
When Shareef was born on January 01, 1976, I was a project engineer in Saudi Arabia at the time.
Since that time, my family and I have moved back from Saudi Arabia to Egypt, then to Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, the UK, where I got my M.Sc. and Ph.D.
On 1988, toward the end of my PhD program in England, I received three immigration applications from the US, Australia and Canada. After deep consideration, I decided to turn down the US and Australian applications. The US is violent and Australia is racist. The better option was Canada; a Multiculturalism society that can accept different backgrounds with less rejection. And we immigrated to Canada.
Since he was 9 years old, Shareef, has lived in the west. However, he was well acquainted with people from many backgrounds and races as we drifted from country to the other throughout the last 30 years. He was, for that reason, a perfect candidate for a Multiculturalism society.
Shareef, although his physical attributes gives the opposite impression, has always tend to resort to peaceful and non-confrontational methods. During the early years of high school in Mississauga, he faced what kids face in High school environment. But he kept his cool and has always been peaceful and never resorted to violence. Not once in his life.
Shareef always respected religion, as he watched his father being a writer and lecturer in Islamic Sciences for as long as he lived. However, fanaticism and extremism have never appealed to him. His personality does not go with such approaches. That is why he approached religion in a moderate paste.
Shareef has never been materialistic, and was always of the opinion that money is a mean not a goal. He is always generous and gives in good cause without hesitation. These attributes is supported by the fact that he is a descendent of one of the most famous and deep rooted families in Egypt. His great Grandfather was one of the most influential scholars as the “Great Imam of Azhar” and his grandfather was the most known Classic Arabic literature writer of his time.
Over the years, I knew all Shareef’s friends and have always agreed with his choice of acquaintances, youth from good families, ambitious and clean. There was never a history of drug or alcohol abuse. His major fraction was speeding tickets!
Good hearted, gentle, generous, peaceful, funny, down to earth, easy going and humble. This is how those who knows my son describes him; with no exception.
This is the person which the dirt of the RCMP accused to be a “terrorist”!
But why are they doing such terrible thing?
This site will try to give as much facts as the current Canadian Government allows, within they own definition of justice that appears to be narrowing it to the minimum.
We will discuss the Circumstances that shed enough light on the international scene and the National situation to paint the real picture and connect the dots for this puzzle.
I appeal to the Canadian Intellect and conscience to give my son the benefit of the doubt, and read what can be, to say the least, a definite reasonable doubt on the “story” that tainted CISC and RCMP have netted for him and his colleagues. It is now obvious that these allegations are not but politically motivated maneuvers to serve certain party agenda.
