December 21, 2007 - A man accused of belonging to an alleged Meadowvale-based terror cell has made bail.

Yasin Mohammed, 26 of Toronto, was released yesterday from a Brampton courtroom after being detained in custody since his arrest in June of 2006.

“I feel overjoyed,” Mohammed said. “I’m reunited with my family.”

Fourteen men and four boys were arrested 18 months ago in connection with an alleged terror plot that made international headlines. The suspects were accused of plotting to bomb key political and media buildings across southern Ontario and even to storm Parliament and behead the Prime Minister.

Four of Mohammed’s family members promised to pay $50,000 if he doesn’t appear for his trial later.
