The biased media is back … the sequel

26-mar-08

Special to captiveincanada.com

Again…the media, this time led by the Toronto Star, has took the bait of the prosecution, who partially removed the ban, with the start of the trial of the youths to allow for the so-called evidence he presented in the first day to be published. Again, they pollute the public opinion by showing the government, and only the government, views. So, after 22 months of silence from the media, the first come back is to destroy the credibility of these people, by presenting the other side of the story, in detail, as if they are showing facts.

It is the sequel of the circus that was put up on June 03, 2006, where the government wants to use the dumb media to hype the public opinion against the accused. Then, the matter dies away again and no evidence from the defense is shown.

It is rather interesting that this evidence is made against the same youths that were offered a deal few weeks ago to get out with no time to serve!

We have to remember that what is presented in the Star’s article is merely what the prosecutor claims. It is so disappointing that the reporter Isabel Teotonio, of the Star, was so fast in writing about these alleged videos and conversations that the prosecution presented, with no contest so far from the defense, although she did not write a word about the documentary by D. Weingarten, claiming that the ban is tying her hands behind her back! Well, the documentary has nothing that breaches the ban! But this is what we get from reporters who put their conscience to sleep and are comfortable using eyes and ears with no brains.

This is the Freedom of the Press we have in the West. This is the Justice we are providing. If a person loses his/her conscience and sense of fairness, nothing would make him/her belong to humanity any more.

We are waiting to see if the defense argument and evidence will be published, or it will be under the “other - not allowed” part of the ban!
